How to fight, a cold!

Just a couple of nights ago I felt the all-too-familiar signs that a cold was coming on.

You know the ones, sore throat, runny nose, headache, the works.

As a busy mum of three boys, a wife and a business owner, it’s really not a cliche to say “I don’t have time to be sick!”.

So, let me tell you what I did, and then tell you what happened.

After my kids were in bed, I raided the kitchen cabinet and found some vitamin C to chew on. While chewing, I took in a big glass of water and then I went to my oils. I applied ‘Be Well’ to my glands, Manuka oil to my throat, NEAT oregano oil to the base of my big toe and then another glass of water, then bed.

Manuka 🍯 you can apply manuka oil directly to the skin (very sparingly) it is great for supporting your immune system. I don’t recommend ingesting this oil, but if you have a sore throat, I definitely recommend rolling it on your neck (think about where your sore throat is). I personally feel the effects in a few short minutes.

Oregano 🌿  is one of the most potent and powerful essential oils and has been used for centuries in traditional practices. Oregano essential oil is a very hot oil, so care must be taken when applying this oil to your skin. You will note above that I did apply this oil NEAT (undiluted) to the base of my big toe, and this is the only place I would do that. Otherwise I would suggest dilution before topical application. Oregano essential oil is an antimicrobial, it supports a healthy immune system and is a powerful cleansing and purifying agent.

Water 💦 so necessary to flush our body of toxins

Rest 🛌 so important to help heal our bodies

What happened?

When I woke up the next day I had no hint of the symptoms I was displaying the night before. I chose to repeat the above cycle the next two nights just to make sure I was fighting this old, and I won!

Isn’t it time you tried oils to help your health?

Here is to a winter free of colds 👌
